Frank Brehany:
A Lifetime of Advocacy: From Public Rights to Family Truths
Frank Brehany is more than a researcher; he is a witness to a legacy that was nearly erased. As a son and grandson of Magdalene survivors, his work is fueled by a profound personal mission: to follow the paper trail 'they tried to hide' and give a permanent voice to those, a generation sought to silence.
Frank’s pursuit of justice is backed by decades of high-level advocacy. Recognized for his intensive work in consumer rights and public policy—notably through his high-profile media and political presence since 2005 —he applies the same investigative rigour to Irish social history. He doesn't just tell stories; he uncovers the evidence required to validate them.
"Currently reaching thousands of readers across 20+ Irish counties, along with readers in the UK, France, Australia, New Zealand and the USA, as we work to bring this history into the light."
Frank's early career
Frank's early working life began in 1975 as a police officer, based in Birmingham's City Centre where he experienced all aspects and the variety of human life and its problems. Following an injury, Frank was medically retired in 1989 from the police service and began a period of study, which led him to gaining an LLB (Hons). Thereafter, Frank began a training contract with a UK National Law Firm. Experience in Personal Injury & Travel Law and subsequently Clinical Negligence and Human Rights Claims, led to his leadership of a National Travel Consumer Organisation, HolidayTravelWatch, from 2003 to 2017.

Frank's Legal Work
During his period in legal practice and through to his stewardship of HolidayTravelWatch, Frank gained extensive media experience which covered topics of Travel Consumer Rights, Inquests, Clinical Accidents and Human Rights issues.
From early days in legal practice, he received calls from Media Companies and ultimately the assistance of 4MediaRelations. From that point he has been and continues to be exposed to a wide range of media coverage, in particular through his work on National, Local and Community Radio, National and Local Press & TV.
