In 1997, Frank Brehany began his journey in bringing travel news and guidance to UK holidaymakers. He also became extensively engaged in bringing ordinary consumer stories into the heart of consumer politics both in Westminster and the European Union.
Frank has spoken authoritatively on all aspects of Consumer Rights & Laws, travel trends and on practical travel issues. This deep engagement led to substantial advances in political dialogue, leading to better informed travel policies and laws, particularly in the field of Package Holidays.
He has appeared widely in the traditional press, on mainstream UK & international television, specific consumer filming projects and across a very broad stream of UK and International radio programming.

After 29 years of being at the forefront of trusted commentaries, Frank has decided to bring to an end those general travel commentaries and the majority of his political work on behalf of Travel Consumers.
The end of this era however brings new opportunities and horizons for Frank.
Whilst Frank will no longer be offering generic travel commentaries, he has decided to concentrate on his writing, publishing and independent media production.
As part of this new direction for Frank, he will be spending 2026 concentrating on developing his books – he is currently developing a trilogy of fictional novella’s along with a series of short stories relating to Frank’s life in the law. In 2026 he will also be producing the second edition of his book, Gaspers, which charts and guides Consumers on Cabin Air Quality. He will continue his political work in the Irish Republic, seeking justice & information for his family following the publication of his latest book, 'A Magdalene Rose'.
He will focus on his Substack; writing, speaking and commenting on specific ethical travel issues, for example, tourism & international politics, climate change, sustainability & overtourism.
Given concerns on the potential threat to the progress on Cabin Air Quality within the EU, Frank will maintain his Consumer Advocacy.
Frank Brehany states:
“I have been privileged to work with so many media professionals across all mediums and I have thoroughly enjoyed bringing the general Travel Consumer message to so many”.
He adds,
“I have spent the last 12 months considering the fast changing media and information environment. It is clear that the media consuming public have changed their viewing and listening habits, but importantly, they have developed a strong reliance on AI systems and social media groups for their Consumer Rights and general travel information. Regrettably, that reliance is also witnessed through some media commentary produced for public consumption. There is also clear evidence that tourism and ethics has become an area of particular concern and does not share a wider exposure as generic travel issues do. As was clear in 2003, there is always a need to adapt and change, to bring a fresh perspective to key issues in the Consumer story; 2026 is one of those moments”.
He concludes:
“I have never resisted change, and my latest change of direction and emphasis has been partially borne out of my writing and publishing journey over the last 5 years. I am looking forward to developing my book projects and production, along with creating ethical narratives on travel but also on wider social and human rights issues. As I look back on the last 29 years, I do so with great fondness and joy and of all that has been achieved. As I head towards this new horizon, I simply wish to express my very sincere thanks and respect to all those broadcasters, personalities, film & media companies, journalists, researchers, production staff and PR professionals that I have been privileged to work with. What a fantastic experience it has been and I wish all of you the very best as we face a new and challenging environment. I look forward to developing new fresh accessible narratives in the years ahead and hopefully I shall once again work with some of you in the future”.
